City Conversations - the PVE Edition
City Conversations: The RHE Edition
Some of the decisions that shape life on the Peninsula most happen closest to home. Roads and public safety, parks and development, the permits that help businesses open and grow, and the local measures on your ballot all run through city hall. They touch every resident and every business owner.
Between busy schedules and secondhand updates, though, it isn’t always easy to get the full picture. That’s the idea behind City Conversations: a chance to sit down over lunch, hear directly from city leadership, ask your own questions, and walk away better informed. With local elections coming up in November, the timing couldn’t be better.
Bringing people together is at the heart of what the Chamber does, and we can’t think of a better way to do it than putting residents, business owners, and city leaders at the same table.
Our mayors and council members are elected to set the vision and priorities for our cities. The city manager works hand in hand with them to bring that vision to life. They oversee the budget, city staff, daily operations and services, keep major projects moving forward, and provide continuity from year to year. That day-to-day view makes them a great person to explain what’s happening in your city and why it matters.
There is a great deal happening in Rolling Hills Estates, from infrastructure improvements and development projects to enhancements to community facilities and the many events and programs that take place throughout the year.
Several significant projects are currently underway, including construction of the new George F Canyon Nature Center and the Palos Verdes Drive North and Dapplegray Elementary School Intersection Improvement Project. These projects, along with other improvements throughout the City, are part of the ongoing work to enhance infrastructure and community facilities in Rolling Hills Estates. At the same time, the City continues to host and participate in events that bring the community together, including the upcoming Peninsula Holiday Parade of Lights, a longtime Peninsula tradition that welcomes residents and visitors to celebrate the holiday season in the City’s Commercial District, affectionately known as the “Heart of the Hill.”
Over lunch, residents, business owners, and community leaders will hear directly from City Manager Greg Grammer about these efforts and what lies ahead. The discussion will cover development activity, public safety initiatives and other City improvements, events and programs
The Chamber is pleased to bring members of the community together for an informative conversation with City leadership. Following the presentation, attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and engage in a conversation about the projects, priorities, and activities happening throughout Rolling Hills Estates.
